Matsu

Matsu is a journey along the passage of time throughout three generations of winemakers. Youth, maturity and old age. A collection that has taken more than a hundred years to be elaborated with grapes from 100-year old vines, the wisdom inherited from generations and the most ancestral techniques.

Matsu El Picaro 2021, 750ml, 14,5%

100% Tempranillo

Two months of aging on its lees in concrete tank.

Fermentation and maceration in small concrete tank (15,000 kg), with natural yeasts, avoiding surpassing 24ºC. It is a wine with soft filtering and non-aggressive clarification, to preserve its natural characteristics.

Full bodied wine, with sweet fruits palate and delicious tannins. Fruitful and licorice sensations come from the maturity of the grapes from which this wine was made. The wine is complex, supple and with ripe long finish.

Matsu El Recio 2020, 750ml, 14,5%

100% Tempranillo

Aprox 12 months in second use French and Eastern European oak barrels.

Maceration for 14 days. Spontaneous fermentation in 15,000 kg concrete tanks. The malolactic fermentation takes place in these same tanks. Soft filtering and non-aggressive clarify to preserve its natural characteristics.

Round and silky, very unctuous with subtle hints of glycerin. Complex and interesting with the long mineral aftertaste.

Matsu El Viejo 2020, 750ml, 15%

100% Tempranillo

14 months in new French oak barrels.

Maceration during 2 weeks. Spontaneous fermentation in 15,000 kg concrete tanks with native yeast. The malolactic fermentation takes place in these same tanks. Soft filtering and non-aggressive clarify to preserve its natural characteristics.

Serious wine with velvety texture, lots of structure, great backbone and serious tannic grip. Long and persistent aftertaste.
